Error Detection and Error Codes
WebAssure checks your web pages regularly, based on the information configured
on your account page. When checking, it connects to your site, requests the appropriate
page, and downloads the data. However, on occasion, a problem with your web site or its Internet
connection will prevent a successful download, thus triggering WebAssure into the verification
phase. During this time, WebAssure verifies that the condition is real and not due to a transient
problem. Once the problem is confirmed to be persisting, the details of the error are analyzed,
and assigned an error code, as follows:
0 - The previous problem has cleared.
1 - Unknown host name - this may mean that your DNS server has failed.
2 - Connection failed - probably due to a failed internet link
or a crashed server.
3 - Timeout - WebAssure attempted to connect to, or receive data from
the server, but did not receive any response within 30 seconds. Probably due to a
crashed server.
4 - Page has change since last check. (Optional feature.)
5 - Connection reset - WebAssure connected to the server but was disconnected
before completing the transaction. Probably due to a crashed or unstable web server.
6 - Page not found, or web server error -
connection to the web server succeeded, but the server returned an error. Your server
may be overloaded, the page has been deleted, or some other server problem.
7 - Connection refused - the service is not running or has crashed.
8 - Permission denied - Account not authorized for resource, or wrong username/password.
12039 - Redirection from http to https - WebAssure reports this as an error and does not follow the redirection.
12040 - Redirection from https to http - WebAssure reports this as an error and does not follow the redirection.
Others - Other errors, usually 10xxx, 11xxx or 12xxx indicate an unusual issue. If you receive one of these codes, please contact us for details.
